Aortic Valve Stenosis: Heart Valve Disorders

Aortic valve stenosis is a condition where there is an inability of the heart valves to open wide and perfectly so that blood does not flow perfectly from the left ventricle to the aorta.

In many developing countries, heart valve disease who have acute is the main reason people do surgery to replace a heart valve.

Aortic valve stenosis disease caused by many factors but nonetheless claimed aortic valve stenosis as a result of degenerative processes that are closely related to age. In other words, this disease usually affects the elderly.

There are many factors that cause narrowing of the aortic valve in someone like; Rheumatic heart, congenital valve abnormalities, including metabolic disorder, hypercholesterolemia, and a buildup of calcium on the valve.
In infants who suffer from this disease, which often happens is that a baby born with two heart valve leaflets which a person normally has three cusps. Born with two cusps will not interfere with the baby's health until two cusps is growing up, which will be weakened heart valves and narrow.

In mild cases, abnormal heart valves can hardly felt symptoms. Middle aortic valve stenosis can be difficult to distinguish from a disease in which the aortic heart valve skeloris thickened but not narrow.

Although the symptoms of heart valve abnormalities have been there at the age of 60, for example, new symptoms can be detected at the age of 70-80 years. Well, when the aortic valve stenosis develops into severe disease symptoms then be easily found. The symptoms of heart valve abnormalities in aortic valve stenosis who have severe is as follows.

Chest pain

Chest pain experienced by patients with aortic valve stenosis who have severe. Type of chest pain is almost the same as chest pain (angina) felt by the patient of coronary heart disease. In patients with coronary heart disease, chest pain is caused by blockage of blood flow due to the layer of fat and cholesterol in the blood vessels. However, pain in the chest caused by aortic valve stenosis thickened heart muscle that has to pump against high pressure and so blood can get through the valve / narrowed heart valve. These conditions require oxygen supply is more than that delivered by the blood, causing chest pain.

Pass Out
Impairment of consciousness in patients with heart valve disorders caused by excitement. This condition causes the relaxation of blood vessels and the effect on blood pressure reduction. Circumstances that make the heart valve disorders are not able to increase blood flow to compensate for the decrease in blood pressure. This causes the brain is deprived of oxygen supply so that people would faint aortic valve stenosis.

Out Of Breath

These symptoms are caused by the failure of the heart muscle to compensate for extreme pressure load of aortic stenosis. If these symptoms are perceived, then the life expectancy without treatment is 6-24 months.

If it is found that the heart valve abnormalities have been severe, it is necessary to perform valve replacement surgery as soon as possible because the prognosis is bad aortic valve stenosis.
