For example, if you started feeling pain from one of your migraine headaches at 2 PM you would write "headache" in the right (symptoms) column directly across from 2 PM in the left (time) column.

Once you've had enough time to experience a few migraine headaches you will be able to examine your food diary to determine which foods you ate shortly before you began experiencing your pain. For example, if you had 3 migraine headaches over a one-month period, and you had milk shortly before each of the migraine attacks, milk may be the culprit. It may take a few weeks or even a few months to come to any conclusions, but over time, by figuring out which foods or ingredients in these foods, are causing your pain, you will be able to eliminate these ingredients and relieve your pain caused by these foods.

Probably the most common cause of headaches is just plain old stress. People who experience tension in their lives can get headaches from their increased tension. Stress can be caused by many things including work-related stress or family-related stress. And although it's not always possible to eliminate the cause of the stress it is often possible to relieve the muscle tension and pain that originates from the stress.

Biofeedback training (as explained above) is one way to help reduce stress. Other ways are taking a warm bath or shower, lying down and relaxing in a quiet dark room, having someone massage your neck and head (temporal region) muscles to help relieve your tension and muscle spasms or placing something cold (ice) on the back of the neck (at the base of the skull). When using ice it should not be placed directly on the skin. Some wet paper towels that have had the water wrung out of them should be placed between the ice and the skin. Regular exercise can also, over time, reduce tension.

The first kind of eating disorder that a person may develop is anorexia. Anorexia occurs when someone is overly concerned with weight and simply refuses to eat. Someone suffering from this disease usually tries to hide it by discarding the food without anyone knowing, cutting the food into small pieces to make it look smaller, or lying about skipping entire meals. Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS is experienced by an estimated 85 percent of all women at some point during their lives. PMS is an umbrella term used to describe a number of physical and emotional changes that women undergo in the days between ovulation and the onset of the monthly period. These changes are attributed to changing hormone levels in the body.

Increased levels of certain hormones may result in specificPMS symptoms. The secretion of too much prolactin from the pituitary gland causes breast tenderness. Excessive prolactin secretion can also interfere with ovulation and may result in irregular periods. Another hormone, aldosterone, is secreted by the adrenal glands.Aldosterone levels normally increase after ovulation.

This hormone acts by causing fluid retention, which in turn leads to bloating, headaches andbreast swelling in some women. The brain does not utilize the mood-stabilizing neurotransmitter serotonin efficiently in some women, resulting in depression or anxiety. Endorphins, which are natural mood enhancers, may be secreted in reduced amounts by the pituitary gland, contributing to depression and to increased pain sensitivity. Increased sensitivity to insulin may result in episodes of low blood sugar, which in turn may increase irritability.

It is not fully understood why some women experience PMS, and others don’t. Women with a close blood relative who also has PMS are more likely to suffer from PMS themselves. The types and severity of symptoms vary from one woman to the next. A more severe form of PMS is calledpremenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD.

How to make Flying easier

There's no denying that it has become more and more difficult to fly without running into snags or problems with the airport or theairlines. Enduring the line at the security check point in someairports is enough to put some passengers in a bad mood. However, despite all of the inconveniences that come with flying, it is a necessity. There are several things that can be done to make flying easier and more hassle free, and all that is involved is a little bit of common sense and planning.


1. Get to the Airport Early 
Arriving at the airport early is a no-brainer, especially when the airlines tell passengers to arrive at least two hours prior to a flight's departure time. However, there are many people who refuse to heed this request, and arrive at the airport just several minutes before a flight is scheduled to leave. If there is a line at the check-in counter or at security, this can create a very stressful situation. Not only may the flight be missed, but a new flight must be booked, and the passengers will probably have to travel stand-by on a later flight with no guarantee of a seat until the very last minute.

2. Take a Morning Flight. 
Leaving on an early flight does not necessarily mean a 4 a.m. flight must be chosen. However, flights that leave first thing in the morning are less likely to be running late, and they are less likely to be affected by weather problems across the country and/or other planes that may be delayed at other airports. Also, if for some reason the first flight of the day is canceled or delayed, there will probably be several other flights throughout the day that, if necessary, can be taken instead.

3. Try Not to Fly During "Rush Hour" 
Airports, like highways, have rush hours. Typically, rush hour in the morning is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and in the afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. These are the hours when airports are the most crowded with people waiting for flights. Crowds mean longer lines at the security check points, more people in the restrooms, more people waiting in restaurant lines, and more people taking up seats in the waiting areas. Flying at a NON-rush hour time of day can alleviate the need to stand in lines and sit with crowds.

4. Try to Take Non-Stop Flights 
Obviously, when a non-stop flight is taken, there is less risk of being delayed. Taking off and landing both take quite a bit of time, so avoiding having to do this twice is recommended. There will always be destinations when a non-stop flight is not available, but there are plenty of cities where non-stop flights are just as common as those that stop. It may even be worth a few extra dollars to book a non-stop flight to avoid an unneeded hassle and the possibility of being delayed.

5. Book Connections with Enough Time 
If a non-stop flight is not available to a desired destination, make sure to schedule enough time in between flights. When airlines book flights, they often have a layover requirement of 30 or 45 minutes between connections. However, this is often not enough time if the original flight arrives late. In order to avoid this stress, try to schedule connecting flights with at least an hour to spare between the arrival time of the first flight and the departure time of the connecting flight.

- Early stage- The early stage of breast cancer can be subdivided into these three different stages:

Stage 0- in this stage there is no evidence of cancer cells breaking through the normal tissue.
Stage I- In this stage the cancer cells are seen breaking through or invading the neighboring tissue and in this stage the tumor measure upto 2 cm.
Stage II- In this stage the tumor measure at least 2cm or upto 5cm and the cancer start spreading in the lymph nodes under the arm on the same side of the cancer.
- Lower stage- The lower stage of breast cancer is divided into sub stages described as under:

Stage III A- In this stage the tumor measures more then 5cm and the cancer spread through the lymph nodes and the nodes are sticking to the surrounding tissues.
Stage III B- In this stage a tumor of any size start spreading in the breast skin, lymph nodes and includes inflammatory breast cancer.
- Advanced Stage- the advanced stage of breast cancer known as the stage IV is the most crucial stage of breast cancer where the tumor spreads beyond the breast, underarm, and internal mammary lymph nodes. The tumor can also spread to lungs, liver, bones or brains ultimately leading to death of the person.

Enam Kesalahan Dilakukan Usai Olahraga

Melakukan latihan terbaik teratur merupakan hal yang fantastis. Tetapi jika Anda melakukan kesalahan pasca latihan tertentu, maka usaha Anda untuk sehat akan sia-sia. Karena itu, tubuh Anda perlu untuk dipulihkan dari setiap sesi latihan dan bersiap-siap untuk tantangan yang lebih besar. Berdasarkan fakta, setiap sesi latihan metodenya akan menyiksa tubuh Anda, sehingga akan lebih banyak menahan dan lebih stres.

Tetapi, apabila Anda tidak menciptakan kondisi yang ideal bagi tubuh Anda untuk memulihkan kembali, latihan tidak akan menghasilkan apa-apa. Dengan kata lain, rutinitas pasca latihan sama pentingnya dengan saat Anda latihan. Jangan pernah mengabaikannya, karena tubuh Anda akan lebih menderita, jika beberapa praktek pasca latihan dasar tidak diikuti.

1. Melewatkan proses pendinginan
Begitu latihan berat, itu sangat penting untuk mendinginkan tubuh Anda. Ini adalah proses untuk mengembalikan tekanan darah dan detak jantung ke tingkat normal, sehingga risiko cedera akan berkurang. Anda dapat melakukan gerakan-gerakan ringan setelah latihan untuk membawa tubuh Anda ke tingkat normal.

2. Tinggal terlalu lama menggunakan pakaian berkeringat
Begitu selesai latihan, Anda harus cepat menghapus dan mengganti pakaian Anda yang berkeringat. Pakaian berkeringat yang berkembang biak bakteri dan jamur. Mengenakan pakaian berkeringan, dapat meningkatkan kemungkinan infeksi kulit. Ini adalah salah satu kesalahan umum pasca latihan. Pastikan setelah selesai olahraga, Anda mengganti pakaian olahraga dan secepatnya mencucinya.

3. Tidak mandi
Mandi sama pentingnya dengan mengganti pakaian berkeringat dan mencucinya. Jika Anda tidak mandi, Anda tidak bisa menyingkirkan sisa keringat pada tubuh Anda. Jika Anda membiarkan lapisan keringat di tubuh Anda, berarti mengizinkan pertumbuhan bakteri. Jika Anda mandi dengan benar setelah latihan, Anda akan merasa segar. Dengan begitu kulit Anda menjadi sehat.

4. Minum alkohol
Salah satu kesalahan besar setelah latihan adalah untuk minum alkohol. Tubuh Anda gagal mengembalikan kondisi tubuh setelah latihan, jika Anda minum alkohol. Selain itu, tubuh Anda akan mengalami dehidrasi jika Anda minum alkohol setelah latihan berat. Jadi, jangan pernah pergi ke pub  setelah selesai olahraga. Tunggu sampai kondisi tubuh Anda rileks dengan baik.

5. Tidak minum air
Ini adalah salah satu kesalahan pasca latihan. Hal ini sangat penting untuk menghindari dehidrasi tubuh Anda dengan baik setelah latihan. Begitu latihan selesai, pertama mengikuti proses pendinginan dan melakukan istirahat. Setelah tubuh Anda akan kembali normal, minum air dan kemudian tubuh menjadi rileks.

6. Melewatkan tidur
Ini adalah salah satu kesalahan pasca latihan terburuk. Tidak cukup tidur setelah olah raga akan menjadi kontra produktif untuk pemulihan Anda. Seperti diketahui bahwa tubuh menyembuhkan dirinya sendiri dan perbaikan jaringan otot robek saat tidur. Jika Anda tidak tidur dengan baik, berarti tidak membiarkan tubuh Anda untuk melakukan pemulihan dengan baik.

Kisah Umi Diselamatkan Seekor Ular saat Tsunami Aceh

Banyak kisah yang terjadi 10 tahun lalu, saat gelombangtsunami meluluhlantakkan Aceh. Namun banyak juga kisah gaib di luar nalar manusia, seperti yang dialami Umi Kalsum (58).

Nenek berusia 58 tahun yang dikenal dengan panggilan Mak Sum ini selamat dari maut berkat bantuan seekor ular.

Pada Minggu pagi 26 Desember 10 tahun silam, Umi Kalsum menuturkan, ia sedang asyik menanam bunga di perkarangan rumahnya di Desa Alu Naga, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. "Saya memang suka bunga sejak dari gadis," ujar Umi, Rabu (24/12/2014).

Namun tiba-tiba bumi bergoyang dihempas gempa berkekuatan 9,1 skala Richter. Beberapa menit setelah gempa orang berlarian sambil berteriak air laut naik. "Mak jangan lari, kata anak saya, itu air laut sudah naik. [Tapi] Saya lari sama cucu saya yang saat itu umurnya 5 tahun," cerita Umi.

Belum jauh Umi berlari, tiba-tiba tubuhnya terhempas gelombang tsunami, cucunya terlepas dari genggaman tangannya.

"Kami sudah teraduk-aduk dalam air, sesaat sempat saya liat cucu saya dalam air, saya coba raih tapi tidak dapat, yang ada tangan saya kesangkut di pagar, ini hampir putus," kisah Umi.

Umi Kalsum pun hilang kesadarannya karena terombang-ambing gelombang pekat tsunami. "Saya sadar pertama sudah di jembatan ini (Jembatan Kajhu), ya subhanallah mulut ular itu di depan mata saya, tubuh saya itu dililitnya," ujar Umi Kalsum dalam bahasa Aceh.

Umi tidak tahu sejak kapan ular tersebut bersamanya, "Ada yang lihat orang sini, katanya saya dibawa ular hingga ke tengah sungai, dipikir saya sudah nggak selamat," ucap dia.

Dikira Pohon Pisang
Permukiman Umi Kalsum berada kurang lebih 100 meter dari pinggiran Pantai Kuala Alu Naga. Awalnya, Umi Kalsum mengira ular tersebut hanyalah sebatang pohon pisang.

"Warnanya loreng, sampai di jembatan itu saya sudah sadar, begitu lihat kepala ular, yasubhanallah, saya cuma berucap selamatkan saya ke darat ya meutuah (mulia)," kenang Umi. Ular tersebut sebesar tiang listrik.

Saat tubuh Umi dalam lilitan ular tersebut, Umi sempat melihat mayat-mayat korban tsunami berhanyutan dengan sampah memenuhi Krueng (sungai) Aceh yang bermuara ke lautan Alu Naga.

"Begitu saya ucapkan selamatkan saya ya meutuah (mulia), ular itu langsung nyelam dalam air, dengan posisi tubuh saya masih dililit, sampai saya sangkut dengan sampah di kawasan sungai Lamyong, itu saya masih dililit," kata Umi.

Sesampainya Umi di kawasan Sungai Lamyong, beberapa menit kemudian seorang remaja melemparkannya sehelai baju kaos, disusul seorang wanita yang memberikannya sehelai gorden untuk menutupi tubuhnya.

"Baju saya udah koyak semuanya, tinggal benang di leher saja," imbuh Umi.

Ditumpuk Mayat
Setelah Umi menutupi tubuhnya barulah datang 3 pemuda, yang menurutnya ketiga pemuda itu merupakan relawan Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI).

"Ditarik badan saya dari lilitan ular, tiba-tiba ular itu melepas saya dengan meluruskan tubuhnya, dan pergi entah ke mana," lanjut Umi.

"Sempat saya bilang sama anak itu, pas ditarik saya, nak ada ular, tidak apa-apa katanya dia nggak ganggu kita," cerita nenek yang juga kehilangan 30 sanak saudaranya saat tsunami menghantam desanya.

Selain itu Umi juga melihat ayam jago miliknya juga selamat berenang di atas sehelai papan tidur miliknya. "Ayam meutuah (mulia) itu juga selamat di atas papan tidur saya, itulah mungkin kuasa Allah," ujar Umi.

Setelah diselamatkan relawan PMI, Umi sempat mendapatkan perawatan. Namun karena kondisi saat itu tidak kondusif dan tubuhnya yang lelah, dia sempat tertidur di jalanan, hingga tubuhnya diangkut dan diletakkan dengan tumpukan mayat lainnya.

"Saya diangkut ke daerah kuburan T Nyak Arif ditumpukin saya dengan mayat di situ," tutur Umi.

Kini, setelah tsunami Aceh berlalu, Umi kembali lagi ke kampung halamannya menata kehidupan dan bergelut kembali dengan kegiatannya sama seperti sebelum terjadinya bencana tersebut.

"Kerjaan saya bidan kampung, obatin orang, mandiin mayat orang perempuan, cukur rambut bayi, hadiri kenduri gitu," pungkas Umi Kalsum. (Ans/Mut)

Penumpang Pesawat Nekat Buka Pintu Emergency Supaya Dapat Udara Segar

Ketika berada di dalam angkutan umum seperti bus, kereta api, kapal laut dan pesawat terbang, kita mesti menjaga keselamatan bersama. Sesulit dan tidak senyaman apapun tempat kita duduk, diharapkan kita tetap tenang. Namun kenyataannya tidak semua orang dapat memaklumi keadaan ini. Karena merasa pengap di dalam sebuah pesawat, seorang penumpang nekat membuka pintu darurat. Peristiwa ini terjadi pada Minggu 14 Desember.

Peristiwa ini terjadi pada sebuah penerbangan lokal Xiamen Airlines dari kota Hangzhou ke Chengdu. Penumpang lain dan pramugari yang melihat kejadian ini hanya bisa tertegun sejenak. Setelah pramugari berbicara dengan pria itu dan mengetahui alasan kenapa ia membuka pintu darurat, pramugari langsung memindahkan ia ke bangku yang lebih nyaman.

Pintu tersebut merupakan pintu keluar darurat yang berada di atas salah satu sayap. Beruntung peristiwa ini tidak membahayakan. Semua kru awak pesawat dengan cepat memeriksa bagian pintu namun tidak menemukan kerusakan sedikitpun "Tidak membahayakan, tidak buruk" ungkap seorang kru pesawat.

Meskipun pria yang diketahui baru pertama kali melakukan penerbangan ini telah melakukan hal berbahaya di dalam pesawat, maskapai yang bersangkutan tidak memberikan hukuman kepadanya. Banyak orang menganggap bahwa maskapai tersebut kurang tegas mengenai hal ini. Untuk pelanggaran yang dianggap dapat membahayakan orang lain seperti kejadian ini, seharusnya pelaku dikenakan denda 100.000 yuan atau setara dengan 200.000.000 rupiah.

Meskipun baru pertama kali naik pesawat, sikap baik sangat diperlukan. Jangan hanya karena ingin menghirup udara segar lalu berbuat nekat dan membahayakan semua orang. Semoga insiden seperti ini tidak pernah terjadi lagi

Ternyata Buah Lemon juga bisa untuk Kecantikan Alami

Lemon, buah kuning yang memiliki rasa asam segar ternyata tanpa diragukan lagi mengandung banyak manfaat untuk kecantikan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan begitu banyaknya produk pelembab kulit yang mengandung ekstrak sari lemon.

1. Mengangkat kulit mati

Kandungan dan Manfaat Buah Melon untuk Kesehatan

Buah melon (curcumis melo) masih bersaudaran dengan labu, blewah dan buah semangka. Melon termasuk dalam keluarga Cucurbitaceae. Daging buah melon memiliki tekstur yang lebut dengan rasa yang manis dan menyegarkan karena mengandung banyak air.

Vitamin A memiliki fungsi yang sangat penting dalam tubuh. Diantaranya adalah mejaga kesehatan mata, gigi, kulit, tulang, dan selaput lendir. Dalam satu buah melon, mampu menyediakan 25% lebih banyak vitamin A dari kebutuhan harian.

Kaya Kalium

6 BAHAYA TEH HIJAU UNTUK IBU HAMIL

 Ibu hamil harus waspada terhadap makanan yang dikonsumsi selama kehamilan. Banyak makanan yang dianggap aman, nyatanya bisa berdampak pada kesehatan ibu hamil dan janin. Misalnya saja teh hijau. Teh ini dikenal bermanfaat bagi kesehatan karena jumlah antioksidan yang tinggi.

1. Mempengaruhi tingkat asam folat

5. Dehidrasi
Karena kafein adalah diuretik, peningkatan konsumsi teh hijau dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan Anda dengan membuat tubuh Anda dehidrasi. Diuretik menyebabkan peningkatan ekskresi air. Karena itu batasi jumlah konsumsi teh hijau.

6. Kafein menyeberang plasenta

Karena Tidak Sempurna adalah Kesempurnaan

 
Setiap orang di Anda, mantan pacar Anda, teman-teman Anda, bahkan Nicholas Saputra sekalipun, pasti pernah membuat kesalahan selama masa hidupnya. Tidak ada yang salah dengan hal itu, kok. Justru sangat normal karena memang tidak ada manusia yang sempurna.

Bahkan menurut teori The Pratfall Effect yang dikembangkan oleh Dr. Richard Wiseman, orang yang diakui kompeten akan lebih terlihat menarik dan disukai jika ia membuat kesalahan atau paling tidak mengakui kesalahannya ketimbang orang yang selalu tampil sempurna.

Loh, kenapa begitu ya?

Ternyata, Hal itu disebabkan karena kita cenderung merasa terintimidasi oleh orang-orang yang selalu tampil sempurna dan jarang sekali membuat kesalahan. Kita akan lebih mudah menerima seseorang yang ‘bisa berbuat salah’ karena hal itu menunjukkan bahwa ia memang manusia biasa (ada faktor kelegaan. Fiuh!), seperti kita, yang tidak luput dari salah. Sehingga kita melihat orang tersebut lebih mudah 'dijangkau'.

Tapi, sebelum Anda merasa besar kepala dan menjadikan teori ini sebagai 'alasan' untuk selalu berbuat salah, saya perlu mengingatkan Anda beberapa hal lagi, yaitu:

1. Pastikan bahwa Anda sudah mendapatkan label sebagai orang yang ‘kompeten’. Teori Pratfall Effect hanya berlaku bagi orang-orang yang memang sudah diakui memiliki kapabilitas di mata banyak orang. Jika label yang Anda dapat selama ini justru sebagai orang yang tidak kompeten, maka teori ini tidak akan memberikan efek seperti yang dijelaskan di atas.

2. Kesalahan yang Anda lakukan bukanlah kesalahan besar yang memiliki pengaruh pada hal-hal signifikan. Kalau Anda sering terlambat, tidak pernah mengerjakan tugas, atau selalu ceroboh dalam bertindak, maka ucapkan selamat tinggal pada label ‘kompeten’.

3. Jangan bersembunyi di balik kata-kata ‘manusia tidak ada yang sempurna’ dan merasa bahwa Anda bisa seenaknya melakukan kesalahan dan berharap orang lain dapat memakluminya. Bukannya simpati, tapi malah rasa kesal yang akan Anda dapatkan.

Nah, pada akhirnya saya hanya ingin mengatakan bahwa, "It’s okay not to be perfect" ,asal Anda sudah berusaha semaksimal mungkin sebelumnya. Sempurna bukan berarti tidak sedikitpun membuat kesalahan, tapi ketika akhirnya terjadi kesalahan, Anda bisa bangkit dan menjadikannya sebagai pelajaran yang berharga.
